ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, Comment
India India!! India India!! Sachin Sachin!! Sachin Sachin!! On 2nd April 2011, Millions of hearts watching the Grand Finale on Television and a more than 30,000 hearts at the Wankede Stadium were beating with pride and pumping out streams of waves sounding in praise of Team India and Cricketing Legend Mr. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.
After the fantastic closure at Mumbai, the world of cricket continued its routine schedules and regular journey with wonderful records and notable successes for 4 years. Again the great show is shortly to be launched at Australia and New Zealand with the usual pomp and if not considered exaggerating with even more glamour. Added glamour of Oceanian pitches will give an edge to the bowlers but not to forget the T20 experiences which have made all the pitches alike for some hard hitters.
Cricket fever is at its peak during this season of 2015. This is the time we can have the best of the cricketing teams clashing for a single title. Also there are some smaller teams such as Scotland, UAE who had to fight their way to qualify for the big show down.
This is the 11th Official ICC Cricket World Cup conducted by International Cricket Council (ICC) under the Presidentship of Mr. Mustafa Kamal of Bangladesh. The First World Cup was conducted in the year 1975 at England. Since then, ICC was able to conduct 10 World Cup Events successfully, out of which Australia has emerged as winner 4 times (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007), West Indies has won the title 2 times (1975, 1979), India has won the title 2 times (1983, 2011) and Pakistan & Srilanka has won the cup one time each in the years 1992 & 1996 respectively.
Australia and New Zealand have been elected to host 11th Cricket World Cup, 2015 based on their bid at the International Cricket Council. Australia and New Zealand Cricket Council are coming together for the second time after 1992 to host the biggest event in the cricketing world. The tournament will be conducted in 14 different stadiums and the Big Final is reserved for the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), world's largest cricket stadium. Mr. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was appointed as the Ambassador for the ICC Cricket World Cup for 2nd consecutive time after the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
The 2011 World Cup Defending Champions, Team India are looked upon by cricket fans, despite their rugged performance at the recent matches held in Australia. Also India's undefeated record (5-0) against arch rivals Pakistan at the previous world cups will grab special attention. Can India make it 6-0? It is a match to be looked out for as usual. The tickets for India v/s Pakistan Group B Match have been sold out in just 10-15 minutes. Hurrah! Check out the calendar 15th February 2015, India v/s Pakistan match date is a Sunday.
However, men in blue have been trying several combinations in the last few months, to have a strong depth in batting and a good paced bowling attack. Based on the recent match results, critics as well the captain of the team Mahendra Singh Dhoni have opined that the middle order batting is weak and needs to work on the same to have positive results at the world cup. Besides the middle order batting performance, team India should not leave out the weaknesses in bowling department which is turning out to be a curse for the defending champions especially in the death overs. Last minute exit of Ishant Sharma and in for Mohit Sharma due to injury can affect on bowling considering the Ishant's capacity to bounce the ball and beat the batsmen. However it is a time to wish all the best to Mohit and wait for the live performance.
As per my opinion, key players to be watched out at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 are Virat Kohli (India), David Warner (Australia), Steven Smith (Australia), Kane Williamson (New Zealand).
